League Report

Congratulations to Brown Jug A in retaining the League Championship dropping only two matches in the process. Brown Jug B, who finished second, have at least the consolation of taking the Hatton Cup. Runners up in the latter were Herne Bay Gulls who having won just one match this year in the League, will be going down accompanied by The East Kent.

It is now confirmed that Eastry will go up together with The Bottles. Both teams play at The Five Bells, Eastry.

You will note that in division two Brown Jug E and The Horse and Groom have only played 19 matches. Their postponed fixture was not played before the end of September and has therefore been classed as null and void.

Vale A have the unenviable wooden spoon position. Vale B, who were vying for that place, have by virtue of winning their last fixture against The Rising Sun jumped up from 11th to 9th.

With a little extra pushing and shoving we have proved successful in completing the league programme on time,-just.

If only the semi finalists of The Plate had got their finger out, I would now be sitting back contented.

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

This is scheduled for 7.30.pm on Thursday 27th November 2008 at The Rising Sun, The Street, Stourmouth.

Hazel Price will be sending out the agenda and official notice soon

Would clubs wishing to make proposals please submit them in good time so that they can be included on the agenda.

See you there.

Hatton Shield & Plate Final

A tight game in the final of the Hatton Shield knockout competition ended 3-2 to the Brown Jug B over the Herne Bay Gulls.

Plate final held at The Rising Sun, The Street, Stourmouth. The Bottles beat East Kent 5-0 on games with score of 65 to 20

Reminder

Will all teams/clubs who won trophies last season please now return them to the Treasurer Bob Hazeldine or to any member of the committee so that engraving can be carried out ready for this seasons presentations at the AGM
